The Sorry Traitor – Judas

No one squandered spiritual opportunity as terribly as Judas. His life demonstrates that having a credible testimony of faith does not connect us to Jesus. Instead, we must have a broken and contrite heart that calls out to Him in faith and dependence.   [do action=”primary-button” text=”Read the latest Devotions” link=”http://www.bethanycentral.org/devotions”/]

Finite Leaders. Infinite God.

Many leaders experience the temptation to consider themselves as indispensable to those they lead, but as Moses’ demonstrates, effective and long-lasting leadership demands wisdom and community.

The Best Is Yet To Come

The story of Moses’ extraordinary life and death offers an opportunity to see God’s hand throughout his life in incredible ways, but it also offers us hope in something far greater than this unique servant of God.

Expect Opposition

A few sound words of commitment to God do not prove a heart commitment to God. Balaam’s life and actions demonstrate that if we set our heart on sinful pursuits, we cannot avoid enticing others to sin.

The Frailty of Godly People

The very same hardships that God designs to grow our faith can also destroy our faith when we grow frustrated. Frustration places us in great spiritual danger because it destroys our faith in God and tempts us into unbelief. But our unbelief dishonors God and disconnects us from His divine blessing.

Give Gifts

The early church in Macedonia set an example of generosity that the Apostle Paul shared with believers across the world. Their example still inspires our actions today, because you can never out-give God.

Give Truth

We must encourage and exhort one another every day so that each person in our church family finishes life with a good, believing heart.
