Sermons on Bethany Baptist
God gives church members a sacred responsibility to stir up love in the church through honoring those who lead them. In this message, Pastor Ritch teaches from I Thessalonians 5:12-13, about the call to strengthen the local church by supporting and honoring those called to shepherd it.
Every church is still in process of becoming what it one day will be. Our Lord Jesus created her, gifts her, leads her, builds her, blesses her and will ultimately perfect her. And He has given spiritual leaders a sacred responsibility to stir up love in the church through shepherding God’s people.
Love for our own local church family is a central mark of Christ-following discipleship. No one faithfully follows Jesus without loving their own local church. God advances His Name through His local church, so let us live in ways that spurs the local church to health.
In this message, Pastor Ritch explains how the prayer of Jesus for the Church in John 17 gives a framework for how the church can most effectively operate for the glory of God.
