Before Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection He left His mission for the church in Matthew 28:18-20, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus’ last instructions to His disciples show the importance of baptism for believers and the church. The disciples obeyed Jesus and made disciples of Him. And they baptized the new believers as Jesus had commanded them.

Baptism is a way that we show that we are united to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a public declaration that He is our Lord and Savior and that we belong to Him forever.

It can be hard to speak publicly for many people and we know that can be a barrier for some. However, since baptism is a public declaration we believe it is also important. Sharing what God has done in your life that can have a huge impact on others who hear your testimony.

To help you with this part of the process we have you write out what you want to say ahead of time. This allows you to think through it and you can read it to help you with the public speaking part. Your remarks don't need to be lengthy and no one is expecting a sermon or theological summary. The goal is simply to state how Jesus has changed your life.

Baptism is an important step of faith. It's our desire to make sure that you understand how important it is and everything that is involved before proceeding. We want to connect with you to get a sense for your faith journey and to talk through the importance and steps of Baptism.

We believe that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to show forth the beautiful emblem of our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It is a shining light that shows we are dead to sin and have resurrection to a new life. We recognize believer's baptism by various methods as a valid expression of faith, but we practice baptism by immersion.

In accordance with our statement of faith, we believe the Bible teaches that baptism is an intentional step of faith that believers take to show they belong to Christ. If you've not been baptized since becoming a follower of Jesus, we believe the Scriptures encourage you to make your faith known by taking this step and would love to meet with you to answer questions and discuss what that might look like in your particular situation.

It is always an incredible thing to have your child be baptized. In such cases, we often have the child meet with a Pastor or Staff Member they are more familiar with and include a parent in that meeting.

We also seek to make sure your child is truly a believer and understands the importance and seriousness of being baptized. However, we never discourage a child from being baptized and we frequently have children baptized.

In Scripture Baptism always comes almost directly after accepting Jesus as our Savior. This immediate connection often gives people the false belief that it is necessary for salvation. Even though the two are linked, Baptism is not a part of the Salvation process. Rather it is an outward declaration of an inward reality that has already occurred.
